Percolation testing:
Your septic system only works as well as your soil allows. Standard Septic will test your soil percolation before beginning any design. We start by drilling 3 or 4 percolation holes about 5 feet deep. We’ll also drill a deep hole about 20 feet deep to check for ground water. Once all the holes are completed, we’ll put 12 inches of water into the percolation holes and maintain that level for 4 hours. The day following the pre-soak, we’ll begin the test. Over a period of 4 hours we’ll repeatedly fill the holes and measure the water percolation. After we collect this data we’ll calculate the percolation rate in minutes per inch. Finally we’ll make a formal report with an official stamp showing the percolation rate and any other relevant factors. Once we have a percolation test report we’ll be ready to design a system

Using the percolation test data, Standard Septic will design the right system for you. Whether you have clay soil, sandy soil, or something in between, we’ll get the right septic equipment and the right sized system for your needs. We can even consider future construction so you won’t have to make septic system changes if you want to expand. With the perk test and septic design complete getting a septic permit should be a breeze. And our plans are always professionally drawn by a draftsman so they’re easy to read and easy to approve
